A little recap: less than 1000 miles ago the 630 blew the head gasket while on the freeway and blew out the side of the cylinder and the head. It was still under warranty so we trucked it down to the dealer and they rebuilt the engine. Since we picked the bike up it has been very hard to start. Once running, it runs like it always did. I assumed it was just because the engine was still 'tight' since the rebuild but after several hundred miles it is no better. It absolutely will not start in gear (even if it is fully warmed up and had just been shut off) and you have to crank on it for 15-30 seconds for it to start coughing, followed by more cranking, rinse and repeat, and eventually (usually) run. That's not even mentioning driving a few hundred miles each way to get it there, so we are hoping to solve this ourselves. Any helpful insight towards self-repair is appreciated! I suspect your buddy's bike is very lean.
